I was born and grew up in paradise. I lived most of my life as a Pollyanna, wearing rose-colored glasses. In recent years, my glasses broke and I saw and became aware of Reality.

Green Tea and Losing Weight

I just read something about green tea. On Oprah, one of the topics was losing weight by drinking green tea instead of coffee or by using green tea patches. I didn't know they made green tea patches. Well, I cut way back on my green tea consumption and I still haven't gained back any of the weight I lost. Don't get me wrong...I NEED to regain the 18 lbs that I lost. I don't feel right at this weight and I don't think I look good at all. I'm trying to eat more but it isn't easy.

The last time I tried to gain weight (I had gone way down to 78 lbs), I gained TOO much, 50 lbs. I didn't stop at 98, I continued on to 128 lbs! When I tried to lose weight, to get back to 98, I went right on by 98 and ended up where I am now...at 80. Why am I doing this roller coaster thing? I want to stop at 98!!!!

Anyway, just wanted to get these thoughts down while I was thinking them. Time for bed. Still have lots to do tomorrow.

...of Tsunamis, Earthquakes, and Volcanoes...

Pondering the recent disasters in Indonesia, I remember something my father said time and again when I was a child..."Bad things happen in groups of three." Thus far, Indonesia has suffered greatly from the December tsunami and the earthquake this month. That leaves one more event to come. Could it be maybe a volcanic eruption? We'll find out in the next few months.

Just a miscellaneous thought running through my mind in this, the wee hours of the morn. I can't sleep because my sinus hurts so much and I can't stop sneezing. Since I still have errands to run and chores to finish tomorrow--those I did not complete today, I know I will really be tired tomorrow eve. If Idon't do any yardwork tomorrow, I may be able to get some true rest tomorrow night. I certainly hope so.

Well, I should try to get some sleep tonight.

Medin, Part of My Backyard

Medin, Part of My Backyard

Today is sunny and cool; a good day to work in the yard again and run errands. Weather Channel says the rest of the week will be just as nice. What's on my agenda for today? Fertilize and water the front yard. I mowed it yesterday...again. Clean out the pool, clean skimmer basket and leaf catcher, run the vacuum, check the acidity and chlorine levels. Run to the grocery store for some bread which I forgot to pickup the last time. Then to the bank to deposit the two rebate checks I received yesterday. Take two of the dogs to the groomer to have their nails clipped. After that, I can sit back and relax and enjoy this beautiful day outside. Oh, and I need to bring in the rest of the bottled water that was delivered yesterday. My husband will be home just before midnight on Thursday. I will then have some help with the yardwork. In the last couple of years, I developed some allergies. Doing yardwork, a task I used to love, is now a miserable chore for me because of the allergies. My sinus hurts so bad and I get terrible headaches after I've done some yardwork. Lots of allergy pills. However, I still like to work in the yard. I just don't like the "afterward" part of it.
